Rapid In-Home COVID 19 PCR Tests

Our Lab Techs Come to You!

We are now offering in-home rapid result COVID 19 PCR house call testing using qRT-SARS-CoV-2 RNA PCR daily throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

We also offer on-site workplace testing.

This test is used to determine acute viral infection with COVID 19 coronavirus, and is useful for symptomatic patients, and for asymptomatic screening for folks needing to return to work or school.

This test is required by some airlines and countries for international travel, usually within 72 hours of check-in at the airport. We provide a physician letter declaring the results “negative” when required for international travel purposes.

When a test request is made, appointment availability is confirmed and payment is processed, our physician, Dr John Horning, orders the test. Then certified lab phlebotomists collect lab samples from patients at home and transport specimens to the lab for processing. Results are generally available early the next day if collection is made by 4:00 pm the previous day. Results are delivered securely to patients by Dr John.

This service is may be requested 9a-9p daily.

After hours and STAT service may be available for an additional fee.

The basic fee for asymptomatic patient screening is $450, which includes our physician test ordering and delivering results, home lab sample collection, specimen transport, and lab processing.

For patients who are symptomatic, our physician provides online or phone medical assessment prior to testing. This may include medical recommendations and prescription treatment when needed. The fee for testing, including sample collection and physician evaluation for symptomatic patients is $600 USD.  When testing is done for symptomatic patients and telemedicine care is therefore provided, services are usually insurance reimbursable. A coded invoice is provided for symptomatic patients for this purpose. We recommend that patients check with their insurer prior to requesting this service.

This test is FDA emergency authorized, and has a reported sensitivity of 98.3%, and specificity of near 100%. This means that the test is considered very accurate. However, because patients can have significant variable delays from the time of exposure to the time they may test positive, this test result, if negative, does not guarantee no infection. According to current data, most people will become test positive 4-6 days after exposure, however a case has been reported wherein the patient became test positive 27 days after exposure.
